Electrolysis is the PERMANENT solution to unwanted hair. Temporary methods such as shaving, waxing, tweezing, depilatories and stringing require frequent and time consuming maintenance. Skin irritation, ingrown hairs, discoloration and scarring may result. Some of these methods may even contribute to an increase in hair growth activity. Electrolysis has been proven a safe and effective method of hair removal for over a Century. It remains the Gold Standard of permanent hair removal. As a licensed and board certified electrologist with 10 years experience I have many satisfied clients. I am a member of the American Electrology Association and the Electrology Association of Illinois and actively participate in continuing education courses. My goal is to provide permanent hair removal using the highest standards of treatment in a private and nurturing environment.
What is Electrology?
Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal utilizing only solid needle/probe devices. A fine sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a small amount of electrical energy is discharged which destroys the hair growth tissue. When this is competently and skillfully accomplished, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated.
Most areas of the body can be safely and effectively treated, including fingers, toes, underarms and breasts as well as the most common areas of the face. Electrolysis is particularly well-suited to the delicate work of eyebrow-shaping as the hair is gradually removed until the desired effect is achieved.
The Standards for Infection Control written by the AEA (American Electrology Association) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) are strictly adhered to. Only sterile disposable probes, sterile forceps, disposable examination gloves, rigid surface cleaning and hand washing procedures are followed.
